Fundamentals of Technology
Prerequisites:
None
Special Aspects: This is a prerequisite for those intending to take future coursework in Drafting,Electronics, Cabinetry,and Carpentry. This coure is availible in the junior high as well as the high school.If taken in junior high, it meets the prerequisite requirements for high level courses in high school, but does not earn high school credit.
Abstract: This course is designed to introduce students to those principles and skills used in subsequent technology courses. Students learn to dketch solutions to problems, create technical drawings and presentations, build models and apply creative problem solving methods.Students are introduced to computer graphics, design software, and computer aided manufacturing.

Introduction to Drafting/Design Technology
Prerequisites:
Fundamentals of Technology
Special Aspects: This is an important class for studnets considering careers in drafting, electronics, engineering, fabrication, and construction related careers.
Abstract: A course oriented towards providing students with an understanding of computer aided drafting and design(CADD) software. Emphisas is placed on the application of computer software in solving basic architectural, structural, electronic or mechanical drafting problems.

Special Aspects: This is an important class for students cosidering careers in drafting, electronics, engineering, fabrication, and construction related careers.
Abstract: Acourse oriented towards providing students with an understanding of of computer aided drafting and design (CADD) software. Emphisis is placed on the application of computer software in solving basic architectural, structural, electronic or mechanical drafting problems.

Introduction to Electronics Technology
Prerequisites:
Fundamentals of Technology
Special Aspects: This is an important class for students considering careers in mechanics, electronics, electrical work, and some aspects of engineering and computer science.
Abstract: Instruciton will primarily center around the major laws of electronics pertaining to simple circuts and electronic components found in industrial and consumer equipment and appliences.

Electronic Applications
Prerequisites:
 Intro to Electronic Technology
Abstract: This is and advanced level electronics course that covers theory and application of electronic principles and practices. Students will be expected to design, build, and troubleshoot circuts and electronic components.

Construction Systems 1
Prerequisites:
Fundamentals of Technology
Special Aspects: This cousre should be considered by students interested in learning general carpentry/construction techniques. It would be especially important for students considering careers as a carpenter, mason or electrician.
Abstract: a comprehensive course dealing with different aspects in construction fields. It is designed for a broad approach to the field of study. Students learn various aspects of the construction field through modeling and practical applications. This course may be taken more than once.

Introduction to Cabinetry
Prerequisites:
Fundamentals of Technology
Special Aspects: This is of special interest to those interested in finish carpentry.
Abstract: A base level course in finish carbinetry. Students will build basic style cabinet models and learn finishing and staining techniques. Projects developed in class may be crafts related and may be designed to teach the safe operation of tools.

Advanced Cabinetry
Prerequisites:
Introduction to Cabinetry
Special Aspects: Requires two semesters or a full year on the semester system. Two credits would be earned for two semesters.
Abstract: Students are exposed to advanced woodworking applictaions and apecialized equipment common to wood working industrial shops. Projects constructed might include such things as tables, desks, curios, and other residential furnishings. This course may be taken more than once. It should be remembered that this course is designed to require two semesters for which two credits would be given.
