  The Community

Grace School District 148 spans parts of two counties in southeastern Idaho, Caribou and Franklin counties. Agriculture is the major economic base.  The district currently has two elementary schools (Grace and Thatcher), one junior high and one high school, in Grace.  Thatcher is a small community located twelve miles south of Grace.  Grace has a population of 990 (2000 census).

The School district in the process of consolidating both Thatcher Elementary, and Grace Elementary school into a new building located in Grace. A bond vote will take place February 1, 2008.

The School

Grace  High School is a comprehensive four-year high school enrolling 134 students in grades nine through twelve. The school opened in 1953. GHS is accredited by the Northwest Association of Schools and Colleges.

The Curriculum

GHS is on a four day school week. Classes begin at 7:55 and go until 4 p.m. Monday through Thursday, no classes are held on Friday.

The academic program is organized in two semesters with a total of 7 credits per semester with students carrying seven 55 minute classes daily.

A minimum of 46 credits is required for graduation

GHS assigns letter grades using the 4.0 system. Letter grades are assigned as follows: 2=C
