District Mission Statement

§        All students will learn the prescribed curriculum at his or her optimum level.

§        Teachers with vision will be committed to excellence and provide leadership which will result in students having success in school.

§        Students will apply their learning (knowledge and skills) and become responsible, productive, contributing members of society.

 

District Vision

          The schools in the Grace School District will foster and maintain a climate where students want to learn. The program of studies will be comprehensive and meet all state requirements. Teachers will enable students to learn well what is taught, utilizing the approved instructional process. All students will learn to his or her optimum level. Parents will be integrated as critical partners in the educational process. Responsibility for learning continues to be squarely on the shoulders of the student, however, with assistance from the teacher and parent. The school will communicate well with the parents and students regarding his or her progress.

Upon graduation, the student will demonstrate: 1. an understanding of subject matter studied; 2. a desire and ability to continue learning throughout his or her life; 3. an ability to solve problems effectively, and communicate and work well with other people; 4. effective citizenship and concern for others; 5. an understanding of what is right and wrong, possessing values which make him or her a good person who is drug-free and sensitive to the needs of the body, e.g. physically, emotionally, and mentally.

 

Operational Philosophy (Beliefs)

§        We believe that students learn better and are generally more successful if they have high self esteem.

o       They relate better to others and approach problems with more confidence.

§        We believe we should make our expectations clear and be consistent in how we hold students accountable.

§        We believe that if students are provided a caring atmosphere, safe environment, quality instruction, and the opportunity to experience success often, they will enjoy learning and be more responsible students.

§        We believe in extending every opportunity for each student to reach his or her complete potential intellectually, physically, and socially.

§        We believe that the implementation of technology creates additional learning opportunities for students.
